Established in 1976, Figure began as a traditional menswear tailor shop under the guidance of its founder, TC Wong. Over the next four decades, Figure, then known as Figure Fashions, built a reputation for tailoring classic suits for government officials and civil servants.
After years of dedication, enduring long hours and sleepless nights, Mr. Wong and his wife decided it was time to retire. Around this time, Mr. Wong had already been doing contract work for Bernard Chandran, a prominent womenswear designer.
Bernard discovered Figure by chance during a nearby lunch and was immediately impressed by their superior craftsmanship, noting that it only lacked creative direction.
In 2018, upon Mr. Wong’s retirement, Bernard Chandran acquired Figure, determined to preserve its exceptional craftsmanship.
Under Bernard’s new management and creative vision, the Figure team began to apply their expertise in classic menswear in innovative ways, incorporating embroidery, prints, and bold colors.
By 2024, following the global pandemic, Figure, under Bernard Chandran’s leadership, refocused on accessibility, aiming to re-educate and restyle the modern man.
